Profile Information

Personal
Prana Yoga Teacher College is lovingly run by Shakti Mhi and Pepe Danza.

Together with their highly skilled staff and teachers, Prana College has trained hundreds of yoga leaders around the globe.

The teaching is transformational, experiential and deeply profound. The trainings are far more than just learning about the postures – which is why it is open to people with a variety of yoga experiences.

Shakti and Pepe are blissfully married to each other and together they are also married to their Path and to Teaching. To this end they run and manage Prana Yoga College and have manifested a beautiful sanctuary in Tel Aviv called “The Center for Blissful Living,” a home for the College students and teachers.

They are as passionate towards each other as they are passionate about sharing the joy and creativity experienced through their spiritual practice. They see all their students as an extended family where its members support and get support from each other. Their approach is that life should be celebrated and not “celibated.”

Shakti Mhi has taught yoga and managed yoga centers in different countries for three decades. She has been dividing her time between teaching yoga classes and training teachers. Eventually, Shakti decided to completely devote her time to spreading the spiritual teaching of yoga so this ancient path would continue, and not disappear amidst the trends of westernized yoga. Pepe Danza, for more than three decades, has been a tireless musical and spiritual seeker, having studied, taught, and performed in just about every continent on this planet. From Buddhist studies in India and Nepal to Sufi Whirling and Native Shamanic Practices, his experience encompasses many cultures and traditions. Out of these he has distilled a unique personal practice and teaching style that embraces Sound, Asana practice, and various forms of Meditation, spiced with a deeply cultivated and well earned sense of humor and playfulness. Shakti and Pepe deliver their teaching with a very harmonized Shiva/Shakti energy. Their male/female flow brings balance and diversity to their students’ experience.

Together they continue to support many of their graduates, students and other yogis who meet obstacles on their own spiritual path. They created an online forum designed for this purpose – helping to dispel doubts, confusion, and to provide inspiration for yogis all over the world.

Prana Yoga College is recognized by Yoga aliance, and our graduates are granted with an international certificate.
About us

Take your practice to the next level and go beyond the physical
.
Fully integrate asana (poses) with meditation
• immerse yourself in a retreat of like-minded people.
Cleanse your body, discipline your mind, and awaken your spirit.
Yoga Style
Much of the appeal of shakti’s teaching comes from the unique style she has developed over the years. It is simply known as Prana style. With a strong focus on safety, proper alignment, breath control and the intuitive flow of the asanas, shakti teaches the students how to create and retain prana (the life-force) while stilling the mind into a meditative enjoyment of the present moment. In her teaching shakti combines the science of yoga with modern science, supporting what the yogis experienced long ago.

Horny Gurus and Gullible Devotees by Shakti Mhi

I am not even sure how I stumbled upon “Pamela Dyson” declaration, where she declares and describes, under oath, that she was sexually abused by her Guru, Yogi Bhajan, the Master of the Sikh Kundalini Yoga institution.

The above specific story is not the subject of my article, since I have no details about the story except reading the declaration. However, when I read her story it brought up all the claims and blames of spiritual females who were sexually “abused”…

The Heights of the Fall By Shakti Mhi

The Fall

My body was in motion, falling 30 feet down.

As I fell, time didn’t slow down, it simply stopped. Maybe because I fell at the speed of light ;-) or maybe when you take off from your usual orbit the laws of nature cease to exist.

As I was in the air I was very clear and very relaxed. I thought: “Is this going to be the end?” I felt a bit disappointed as I was in the middle of teaching a yoga teacher training…

The Circus of Yoga By Shakti Mhi

Throughout my years of practicing yoga, when people found out about my practice, their first question usually was usually whether or not I could ‘put my foot around my neck’.

One can easily get the idea by looking at the yoga magazines, studio brochures and the endless yoga-themed commercials or through surfing the web; that the ultimate aim of yoga is in fact to bring your leg around your neck; it’s about getting the rubber body.

In the old days…
